As a photographer, I would love to share a moment with you to start practicing self love by celebrating who you are. We have forgotten about the importance of having your portrait professionally taken, and the beauty of creating moments for yourself. Today I present to you a dear friend who is celebrating who he is and understands the magic of self love in this journey. Jack Byrd is a person that I truly admire and he is a true inspiration for me, I love that he is always finding ways to be a great version of himself. He is an entertainer, juggler, and balloon artist, but most of all he is a great man and an amazing friend. Please read on to his beautiful words.
I’ve never been particularly fond of picture-taking—either as part of a group or by myself. I never thought I was “photogenic,” so posing for pictures always seemed a bit phony and awkward to me; just a duty to perform when necessary. But Jessica changed all that. In her calm and professional way, she showed me that everyone is photogenic, not just the select few. The key was to relax and be my authentic self... to celebrate who I am. With this attitude, I saw that photography was not just the capturing of scenes in some artistic way, but a joyous exaltation of the essence underlying all of life—with me included! Thank you, Jessica, for opening my eyes to a new way of seeing myself.
